The Great Indian October ( why in Nov?) Fest at Palace grounds did rock big time. And the King of Good Times was Moksha. Thanks Kingfisher! ( not for the beer- which was flowin like water, but for the the great music!). The crowd was truly cosmo.
Moksha! Even before Moksha began, a stoned irritating immaculate, screamed out “You are in Bangalore”. He was trying to intimidate. To which Christy promptly retorted saying that he is from Bangalore. Well, the talented Moksha can rock any place, be it Chennai or New York, for that matter. And rock, they DID.
Leon & Allen had an awesome stage presence! Their lead guitarist was amazing. They played numbers like Nothing Else Matters, White Noise, Comfortably Numb, Fear of the Dark etc., The crowd loved every bit of it.
I have seen them perfom, way back in Loyola college, 12-13 years ago. Leon was my senior at Viscomm, Loyola. Loyola encouraged lotsa bands like Bloodhounds, Sulphour etc.,
Ministry of Blues played some nice numbers like Mustang Sally, Roadhouse Blues etc.,
Food : Opus had some nice spread. I hogged some yummy paneer rolls from TIBBS frankies!
Drink : For a cover charge of R.350, one gets 3 mugs of KingFisher. I handed ‘em over to Happy Singh and Niteesh and charged myself up with coupla cans of Red Bull. I did bump into a rather happy looking Suman.
The Fest : There were some games, gameshows, discs and plenty of beer counters. It was worth the monies.
Well, Music can really heal thy Mortal Soul.
